Through the reflection of a mirror, we seem to see and sense a stable existence of our being. We gaze at ourselves, carefully expressing and presenting ourselves while maintaining a dignified facade.

Yet, consciousness remains like a distant whisper, deeply hidden in the far -off valleys, emerging in moments beyond our perception—it is the divine presence within the body.

Outside the Photo Booth at the train station, there’s a narrow mirror. Each time I pass by on my way home, I stop to check my reflection, adjust my coat, and ensure nothing is stuck on my pants. But once you lift the curtain and take a seat inside, that narrow mirror fades from memory. Your attention becomes fixated on the reflection of the face in the screen ahead, while a disorganised bag sprawls across your lap, and your legs would bend awkwardly due to the chair’s low height. Yet, these details barely cross your mind.

SectionA Unconsciousness Booth

Inspired by those Photo Booths and my study into consciousness.I made this first vision of Polaroid Photo Booth.

Participants assumed it was just for taking portraits and carefully adjusted their appearance in the mirror.
However, the second camera which located in the lower corner captured their lower bodies at the same time.
